I have been holding in a secret for a few weeks now, but after talking to Lyndsy today, she has given me permission to officially announce that she will be reprising her role as Katie Deauxma in Kick Ass 2.
Here is what Lyndsy had to say

“It’s a small part because of Nikita, but I’m in it, I start shooting in September. You can post it. I’m deff gunna do it, unless something crazy happens.”

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Kick-Ass 2’ Preview, Mark Millar Says Production On Movie Sequel Is ‘Nine Months Away’
Posted 8/31/10

If you’ve been eagerly anticipating the sequel to Mark Millar’s hit comic book series “Kick-Ass,” this is your lucky day… and week, for that matter. Why? Because we have an exclusive sneak peek at “Kick-Ass 2” (the comic), courtesy of Millar’s new monthly magazine debuting this week, “CLiNT.”

“Kick-Ass 2” follows immediately after ‘Kick-Ass,’” Millar told MTV News. “You see how Dave has inspired people to become amateur superheroes, Red Mist has inspired people in the sequel to become amateur supervillains. So what we have is two rival gangs of super characters getting together in New York.”(Warriors, come out and play-ay!)

And what about the sequel to the mega-successful film adaptation of the comic starring Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz? To paraphrase the Red Mist, wait ’til they get a load of this!

“We go straight into what’s happened with Dave and Hit-Girl as well, picking up from where they left off in the last story. Hit-Girl has now been adopted by someone who’s saying that she’s not allowed to kill people anymore, she can’t be Hit-Girl anymore,” said Millar.

Lyndsy Fonseca, girlfriend to Aaron Johnson’s title character in “Kick-Ass” and star of the TV spy drama “Nikita”, disappointed fans at New York’s Comic-Con by predicting that any sequel to director Matthew Vaughn’s big-screen adaptation of Mark Millar’s “Kick-Ass” comic has been pushed back due to the busy workloads of Vaughn, currently shooting “X-Men: First Class,” Hit-Girl actress Chloë Moretz and Johnson.

“It’s going to be a while if it does happen. Everyone’s kind of working on other things, and there needs to be more issues of the comic before there’s material to do another movie. So wait and see.”

Meanwhile, Millar continued to fan fans’ hopes via his newly published “Kick-Ass 2” series in “CLiNT” magazine, and talk of his plans and what a “Kick-Ass” sequel would be if and when it happens.

“The idea of “Kick-Ass” was: what would happen if people in the real world tried to become superheroes?” Millar said in an earlier interview. “The second one is: what if people tried to be bad guys as a reaction to the superheroes? It’s just that simple: The same way these guys were contacting each other on Facebook and trying out superhero costumes, what if bad kids started to do this? You’ve got these horrible “Clockwork Orange” kind of scenario going on, where these kids are happy-slapping; out there with their mobile phones, dresses up as villains doing horrible things to people, recording it and putting it online.”

Place your bets on Millar’s words of encouragement vs. Fonseca’s sour predicament. Will “Kick-Ass 2” happen? I for one say, yes. Then again, I’m one of those positive thinking fan boys.
